Moving from BT Full Fibre 900 to Plusnet Full Fibre 900

The new customer offers for full fibre look pretty competitive at the moment, and better than I can get for BT renewal price.

What is your experience of moving from BT full fibre to Plusnet full fibre, is there any tangible difference in speed and quality of service.

The smart hub 2 from BT and Plusnet looks almost identical.

The main differences seem to be Plusnets speed guarantee is lower than BT. (e.g. 500 on 900mbs versus BT which is 700 on 900mbs) and Plusnet do not offer a digital voice option (not much of an issue these days).

Re: Moving from BT Full Fibre 900 to Plusnet Full Fibre 900

Hi.

I'll let you know what its like tomorrow.  I'm with BT on 500Mbs.  I get 480 to 500Mbs without fail.  For a fiver less, I'm switching to Plusnet tomorrow to their 900Mbs.

Got home from work.  Entered my plusnet username and password in my Deco router.  Boom!

Quick speedtest.  780Mbps download, 105Mbps upload... and that's from my laptop over Wifi.  😁

So very happy indeed and I'm saving a fiver as well.

Thank you my BT 900 doesn’t give me that wifi speed on SmartHub 2.
Looks like plusnet for me, given it’s a very similar offering to BT retail

@karl-uk you wont get much better than about 400Mb wireless with a Smart Hub 2 (or a Plusnet Hub 2) as its only a Wi-fi 5 router.

I don't know what router @coastie8075 has but my guess is both router and device are Wi-Fi 6 capable to achieve those speeds

Yes sorry should have mentioned.  I've got a Wifi 6 router (Tp-link Deco X20) and my Macbook is also wifi 6.

The router is plugged directly into the ONT.
