The party's begun, my neighbour's just applied - ticket number 159288196

Two installs for the price of one visit if OpenReach are interested.

Matthew, thanks for looking at this.

Both my neighbour and I have confirmed the dates on offer as acceptable.

Re: Kingswells FTTP

Received an install date (of next Tuesday) 8 days after PlusNet reviewed the request (my neighbour got the following day).

Got an e-mail dated today and timed at 8.07am saying the router was on its way and would take 3 - 5 days - the postman was knocking on my door before 11.00 with it!!

So all's going well so far.

@Gandalf

Yes, other than next weeks weather things are looking good!!

I do have a question though. After I'm connected I plan on dropping my BT phone line - will this cause any problems with PlusNet (not expecting it to)? As far as I can see all I need to do is update my details with a mobile phone number (once I get a PlusNet Sim only card!!!).

I wouldn't have thought so, but I'd recommend only dropping it once your FTTP service is up and running, as it'll cause your ADSL broadband connection to cease. Smiley

Yep you can do that here: https://www.plus.net/my.html?action=view_details&s=0

(once I get a PlusNet Sim only card!!!).

Re: Kingswells FTTP

@MatthewWheeler

Yes, I know about the surcharge. £2.50 + a  £5.00 Sim card is still far cheaper than a phone line!!!

Indeed, add in the BT Sport app I'll end up paying £27.49 a month as against around £36.00 now - for a faster service (around 5 times), BT sport and a mobile phone plan!!!

Re: Kingswells FTTP

@Gandalf

Funnily enough, 4 minutes after posting on here I had an answer on the support ticket - OpenReach are " awaiting equipment to be able to complete this job"

So no FTTP and no new date!!!
