I cannot have FTTP although neighbour has plusnet FTTP

My neighbour has had Plusnet FTTP installed. I contacted plusnet by phone then on the trial link. I got the same copy paste response that is is not available in the area. Neighbour is stones throw away from me. I seem to get a stock response? How can I get them to consider me? There is a fibre splitter in road so I should be able I get FTTP too.

Re: I cannot have FTTP although neighbour has plusnet FTTP

Welcome to the community forums @stevejm.

I'm afraid the response you've received via the ticket on your account is correct.

While I appreciate you may not be far from your neighbour, checking the availability for WBC FTTP at your address shows it is unfortunately not available.

This is the estimates for your neighbours line:
FTTP Available.PNG

Whereas this is the estimates for your line:
FTTP Not Available.PNG

While these two do seem very similar, I'm afraid FTTPoD is not part of the FTTP Trial due to the vast difference in price amongst other factors.

Apologies for any inconvenience this causes.

Re: I cannot have FTTP although neighbour has plusnet FTTP

Could this be another case where the OpenReach records are either wrong or out of date?

Re: I cannot have FTTP although neighbour has plusnet FTTP

how can we only be offered FTTP-od when are neighbours are FTTP? There is a fibre splitter in the street. Can this data be checked? The fibre line goes past the front of the property.

The information is clearly is not up to date I can only get 3.3Mbs which is quite far out of the suggested range and below the hand back threshold.

Re: I cannot have FTTP although neighbour has plusnet FTTP

I'm afraid it's not unknown that OR records do not match the situation on the street. My guess is FTTPonDemand has been available for a while (which is why it shows up against your phone number) but the OR records have not been updated to show WBC FTTP.

Hopefully someone at PlusNet can look into this but it is not (usually) straight forward. There appears to be no OR procedure in place for things like this.  All PlusNet can do is ask.
