Full fibre landline

Had email from Plusnet  informing us we would be getting full fibre, no date when, but it says we will no longer have a landline. We really need to keep the landline, they mentioned moving to EE Huh to possibly keep landline, but we would lose our landline number.   Don’t really need full fibre, Can anyone suggest a supplier who will still keep landline available along with broadband and still have our landline phone number. We don’t really need super fast broadband.

@denwyn

You appear to have asked this question before here https://community.plus.net/t5/Everything-else/Full-Fibre-and-Home-Phone/m-p/2021994

Have you see this Q and A which might help https://www.plus.net/help/my-account/changes-to-broadband-and-phone-faqs/

No mention of losing your landline number with a move to EE.

EDIT: this move to Full Fibre is inevitable.

@denwyn

What product are you currently on? Do you use PN email?

I would contact PN urgently by phone and make it clear you will not accept a transfer to Full Fibre unless you are happy.

Your "landline" as such is going, sometime in the next year or so as PSTN is withdrawn so you will need to consider VOIP alternatives. When PSTN goes you will need to change product so a move to Full Fibre is worth considering.

One is to change ISP to one who does both. EE is an option and PN will transfer you to them FOC. Zen Internet have a good reputation for service and an excellant router but moving to them may have contract implications.

The other option is to stay with PN and move your phone service to an independant VOIP provider. More hassle than a combined service but more choice. Who you choose will depend on your phone needs but have a look at A&A - they have a good FAQ section.

@bmc

To prevent any duplication of effort, did you refer to the OP previous thread?

I have advised the moderators, hopefully they will be merged.

... which they never returned to anyway.

Looking back over their posting history, they have repeatedly duplicated their questions and never return to / conclude them.
