Fault with fibre

My broadband has been quite choppy for a couple of weeks now. Today it has gone down completely.
The ONT has a red light on LOS and no light on PON.
Has anyone else had this issue? I've just called support who have booked an engineer, I'll have to wait until Thursday due to my own availability so was wondering if anyone knew of it and if it could be something simple. I've tried power cycling the router and the ONT and I've checked the fibre all the way out of the house and into the ground and see no damage to it.

Also can anyone from the tried team just check that the correct process has been followed regarding an engineer booking?
Many thanks.

Fix

Hi Lee. I'm sorry to hear you're having problems with your FTTP connection.

There's not much we can do in the way of diagnostics so I think an engineer visit was the right call.

Can you let us know how it goes?

Re: Fault with fibre

OR engineer just left. The fibre had snapped inside the plug going into the ONT. Only took him 10 minutes to diagnose and repair.
All looking good now, I'm hoping this will resolve my previous issues with performance.

Re: Fault with fibre

Glad to hear this was a relatively quick fix Lee. Thumbs_Up

Fingers crossed, but let us know if you do experience further issues.

Re: Fault with fibre

Hi Anoush, thanks for your response. I'm still having the issues I mentioned previously. I have a few devices (LG TV, xbox one, fire tablet) which I have to manually rejoin to the WiFi every time I power them on despite their close proximity to the router, also I'm finding the signal strength will be excellent on other devices and then for no apparent reason it will go down to 1 bar and stop working for a couple of minutes before coming back to life. Is there a firmware update or something because I've always associated these home hubs as having decent WiFi but this one seems to struggle.
