FTTP Trial/s

I know this has already been discussed and I have read through the thread about it and one that seems to have closed, but what is the situation now with regards to the one raised by @RobPN back in late 2021, and "Is a FTTP (trial) negotiated discount still possible?"
My contract with another FTTP provider ends at the beginning of next month anyway, and as I am 'upping sticks' and moving to Abergavenny and would obviously prefer to reconnect via fibre...what if anything might be the deal (if there is one) if I switch back to Plusnet?
Just asking. 😁

First question is - is FTTP available at your new address?
PlusNet don't currently offer FTTP to new customers so you wouldn't be able to join them anyway.

You might be right about that Brian but always worth asking, no? As my old Mum used to say "If you don't ask you don't get".
Besides, I'd be a new ex Plusnet customer soon to be ex BT customer.😊
As for FTTP at my new address I'd be very surprised if it isn't available given the area.

Still worth checking - use the address version of the following.
https://www.broadbandchecker.btwholesale.com/#/ADSL
Enter your post code only and then select the address from the drop down list. You'd be looking for WBC FTTP in the left hand column.

Thanks for that Brian.
It tells me it is not available... but that but that it is available "on demand" - which was once the situation at my current address. No FTTP until I signed up for the trial so....
Guess I'd best move in first and see what PN has to say (or not) about it.
Cheers

PlusNet don't do FTTP on Demand - it is a highly expensive way of getting FTTP.
So it'll be FTTC - the results should have given you estimates for available speed.

@Minivanman Maybe you need to reappraise the move…

@Minivanman Plusnet will not supply FTTP on demand (very expensive) so you will not be able to get it at your new place until standard WBC FTTP is available and Plusnet offer it to new customers which you will be, I don't think that being an ex customer will help you.

FWIW Abergavenny seems well served with Openreach FTTC, some parts do have FTTP from Shell so presumably not Openreach
That said, when looking at property, Rightmove has a tab that allows you to check Broadband speeds available at each property.

PlusNet only supplied FTTP to those houses which were already able to receive FTTP via the OpenReach network. If WBC FTTP doesn't show on the Checker then PN don't supply - full stop.
You could check the following to see what they say about FTTP.
The first will tell you if any alternative supplier is live at the address. From memory you need to look at the bottom left of the results window to see suppliers and it doesn't say if someone is in the process of building an FTTP network.

Shell use Openreach infrastructure.
