FTTP Trial install - timescales - #117522106

Hello,
i raised question #117522106 a couple of days ago to join the trial as the village is now FTTP enabled, finally!
Just wondering other peoples timescales from raising the ticket, to getting external and internal installs?

Re: FTTP Trial install - timescales - #117522106

It took about 2 weeks to get a response to the ticket, but only by PMing a PN staff member who posts here !.
Then external install took 3 days and external another 10 days.
But - you say the village is FTTP enabled, but if there are any civil works like ducts to your premises that could delay things significantly

Hi Dazrog  Smiley
Mal is right with the current time frames,  mainly owing to this being in a trial phase however  we are working to get a few more staff FTTP trained to bring down the wait.
I'll give your account a look and get back to you on the trial ticket

Re: FTTP Trial install - timescales - #117522106

I'll give someone a nudge about the ticket. - Looks like Paul has that bit under control.
In terms of lead times from order placement to completion, I can only speak from personal experience with accounts I've dealt with and the answer isn't really much help. Also it could potentially take longer than the times stated below for all I know.
I've seen it take anywhere from 1 working day to just over 8 months (One I dealt with personally from start to finish, other than when I was on holiday. That's from order placement to completion)
The 1 working day only really applies to properties that already have an ONT. The lead times Mal experienced were pretty quick compared to the average of ones I've dealt with in the past (Even if I exclude the 8 month one I dealt with)

Thanks all for the replies, and to Paul for setting things in motion Smiley
We'll have to see what happens, however I've just noticed, I can see fibre on the end of the pole at the opposite end of my street currently, but not on the pole outside my house which currently serves my copper! Strange? Does/can it go underground? We'll see I suppose!

@dazrog
FTTP cables can go over ground if it is fed from the top of a pole.
They can also go underground, as mine, does via dedicated ducts from the underground fibre concatenation point.
It depends on the topography of the site involved, as new builds tend to have underground ducting for communications while older areas fed from over head poles have the fibre pole fed too.

@dazrog
The appointment in my messages has been committed to,  it's a bit of a wait but I'll keep an eye on things for you, I'll send you a message once the external work is complete
@hennaboy,this Is being looked into by Harry on your other thread,  I was doing FTTP orders on my downtime yesterday and we've been told nothing about this ending Smiley

Paul,
Thanks, however you said on the ticket you would confirm the external install date for me? I asked the question on the ticket earlier.
Thankyou.
