FTTP Download Speed 2 Mbps

Can somebody please look at this. I reported this problem on 01/11/14 and nothing has been done to investigate this yet. The FTTP is unusable. Be better off with ADSL.

Re: FTTP Download Speed 2 Mbps

Current line speed is showing as 2Mb! It should be 76Mb

Re: FTTP Download Speed 2 Mbps

Hopefully MattyC will pick this up as it's a PN profile issue.

I have moved this thread and some of your earlier ones to this board as it is the FTTP Trial you are discussing

Re: FTTP Download Speed 2 Mbps

Matthew
For future reference purposes could you possibly list the correct Plusnet line speeds for all the various FTTP offerings e.g. 80/20, 100/30 etc.
Thank you.

Re: FTTP Download Speed 2 Mbps

I think they have one profile for all on FTTP now (300Mbps).

That'll be me then! With regards to the speeds; it's actually dependent on when in the trial they were provisioned. Some will be on 330/30, and other more recent provides will be on 80/20 (or 40/10 if requested). I'm not sure that I'd be able to give you all a specific date on when we made the change.
@cornwallsurfer - Feel free to pop myself or Mr Wheeler a PM regarding this one if it's not sorted yet. I'm pretty sure it's a simple issue.

Re: FTTP Download Speed 2 Mbps

The reason I asked was that mine has been put down to
"Current line speed:
77.4 Mb"

from the 300Mb.
So really wondering if that is correct?

Re: FTTP Download Speed 2 Mbps

It should be show one of the following depending the speed of the FTTP service:
40/10 - 38Mbps
80/20 - 77.4Mbps
100Mbps or 330Mbps - 300Mbps
The 100Mbps product was withdrawn by Openreach earlier in the year but there's still a few people on it.

Re: FTTP Download Speed 2 Mbps

I am experiencing sloooow speeds also and also have to disconnect the openreach box pretty much two/three days a week sometimes to get things going again - was particularly bad over the weekend. Please can someone check - is it the openreach box (I was one of the first on the trial so maybe it needs upgrading) or the line?
Yes, I am also curious about what is happening regarding the 100Mbps speeds now that is withdrawn - will I / have I been moved up or down and when will I know / get asked?
40/10 - 38Mbps
80/20 - 77.4Mbps
100Mbps or 330Mbps - 300Mbps

Re: FTTP Download Speed 2 Mbps

The plan was to contact those people on 100Mbps about switching to a different speed, most likely 80/20, however we've been able to keep everyone on 100Mbps so we've decided to leave everyone as is. If Openreach want us to move people then we'll contact you to let you know but last I heard they didn't have any problems leaving the few that were left as is.
I've run a line test but it's not shown any problems, but if it is the Openreach box it may not show up in the test, especially if it isn't happening at the point I ran the test. What happens when it gets slow? Is it gradual or a sudden change? Can it happen at any time? When you disconnect/reconnect the Openreach box do you switch the power off and does it go back to normal as soon as it comes back on or does it take time?
