There appear to be a number of people in Milton Keynes living in FTTP areas that have been unable to upgrade because of incorrect database information with Openreach's systems. Those people affected may find that their neighbours already have FTTP and they cannot order it.
Where has FTTP been rolled out in Milton Keynes?The first place to check is the MKBAG (Milton Keynes Broadband Action Group) availability list:

How can I check to see if my address can receive FTTP already?The BT checker (http://www.dslchecker.bt.com/) should tell you the available broadband options for your property. It will also tell you the cabinet you are connected to and the exchange. If you then check your cabinet against the list on the above MKBAG page above, this should give you an idea whether you are in a FTTP area or not.
The majority of the FTTP rollout in Milton Keynes is complete, but there are still some areas due for completion.
Note that if you can receive FTTC now, BT will not be upgrading your property for FTTP (at least not for a number of years).
Which areas seem to be affected by the database problem?So far, it appears that areas which were part of BT's original FTTP trial are affected. These include Monkston, Loughton, Walnut Tree and Kents Hill.
Willen was also affected, but the Openreach database appears to have been updated this week for those on cabinet P44 (houses connected to that cabinet should have 100% FTTP availability).
What can I do if I think I should be able to upgrade to FTTP but the BT Checker is showing only ADSL availability?Please post here if you think you are affected. It would also be appreciated if you could register with the MKBAG (http://uk.groups.yahoo.com/group/MKBAG/) and share your affected street.
MK Council also want to be made aware of anyone affected (via email MyLocalBroadband@milton-keynes.gov.uk). They are already aware of people unable to order FTTP in areas which Openreach have told them are completed in terms of a superfast broadband rollout.
