FTTP Availability - Direct in Ground

Hi,

My property (and around 5 others in my street) are currently supplied with Direct in Ground armoured cable.

I can see via the BT Wholesale Availability Checker that my property only has FTTP on Demand listed, with FTTP stated not available.

Either side of mine and similar properties are newer houses I know are fed with proper duct and some bungalows of a differing age with some appearing to be fed with proper ducting, others I cannot tell but it is not obvious if they do or don't. I know fibre has been laid in the street as checking the Availability Checker again against the other addresses all the remaining properties have WBC FTTP listed as available with the FTTP install process listed as either KCI2 Assure / 1 Stage.

I'm guessing Openreach might deem the cost to run new duct not economically viable for my property, does anyone know if I have any options open to me here, who would I speak to about the possibility of OR laying new ducting to my property, can that be done via P/N? 

Or is it just a case of sit tight and hope that OR amend the checker moving forward?

Thanks for the response, I have actually used this a few times. I was initially told I was in scope for FTTP deployment but after the dates I was given initially passed I contacted again and the most recent conversation dragged on for a few months whilst they discussed with project teams, but the final response I received was:

I have checked with our project manager and found that the current Copper Network that serves your premises is Direct in the Ground and at present we have no way of providing the Fibre to the Premises network to your property.

We are investigating ways to provide the infrastructure to these types of premises but at this time we are unable to offer any timescales but we can keep you up to date when things change. 


I believe Openreach have their own Civils department that would handle this type of thing, so to say they have no way of providing Fibre seems to be an inaccurate statement on the face of it. I can only assume it is a cost related issue. It's just frustrating as it is so close to the property.
