FTTC speed drop cured by resetting both routers

Hi
I started on the FTTC trial on 3rd November, the speed before installation was  :(:

Imeadiately after the result was  :):

This has remained pretty constant until tonight (evening of 9 Nov) when everything slowed down pretty dramatically as follows  >:(:

I checked out a few other posts on here and turned off both the BT and Netgear routers for about 10 minutes, this seems to have done the trick, with the line speed back up as follows  ;D:

Is this something that is likely to happen often or just the line bedding in?
Cheers

Re: FTTC speed drop cured by resetting both routers

Hi,
I'm starting to see this a few times. In all the cases that I have seen it in where the reboot of both routers has fixed the problem they've all been in the first 10 days. I don't have any evidence yet as to what the cause is but I have a suspicion. Every time you resync the router it recalculates the profile on the BT side so I think that in some cases in the first few days it's just not setting it correctly so the reboot resets it. Whether that's right or not I don't know. May well be something else, but for now the reboot seems to work in the first 10 days.

Thanks Dave, I will keep an eye on it and let you know if it happens again.
