FTTC installed profile change needed please

BT installed my FTTC this morning and i'm still getting my DSL speeds of 7meg so i would like a profile change please  
This BT Echolife HG612 looks a bit naff is there no way to bypass it and hook the cable router straight to the socket ?

The profile should be updated within a day or so automatically - contact support if it has not (see post here for info).
And there is no way to bypass the Echolife modem I am afraid - at some point perhaps a combined modem/router solution will be available but for now the modem is required.
