FTTC download speed slow in evening (and now most of the time)

I have raised a fault 35669185 for the FTTC results I am getting in the evening.
Cannot run the full BT speedtest - test 3 does not seem to work?
Download Speed achieved 9334
Acceptable is 12000-25364
IP profile 25364
Upload 8094
Profile 10000

Still just as slow in the morning before 8am.
Just checked just now - attached results, just as bad.

So where is the download bottleneck?  - It is slower on FTTC than it was on ADSL at times.
Download speed 1/4 the upload speed (which stays very constant).
It was originally flying along, and according to the BT engineer there are only 2 people on my cabinet.

I've just run a quick test to see if there are any obvious problems, it shows this is your current sync speed:
Sync Status In Sync
Downstream Speed 26.738 Mbps
Upstream Speed 9.997001 Mbps
I'd suggest if you have already reboot both the BT modem and your router and then re-run the BT Speedtester, test 3 should work and the test suggests that it needs to be run to try and diagnose the fault.

Thanks Dave, I am not sure how to run test 3, I tried to change the credentials in my router (Airport Extreme) to those BT said and it didn't seem to work.
It was something like speedtester_domain for user name if I recall, is that correct?

Just tried again, managed to change to speedtest@speedtest_domain and connected but test 3 just sits at Verifying user details

I had this problem with when i was first set up, coincided wth  the pN network problems, sorted itself out after a day or two and PN also upped my profile which again improved things, all you can do is wait and put a ticket in.

Thanks, I put a ticket in last night but it doesn't seem to be able to be progressed until I can complete the BT tests (I am stuck on Test 3). Changed PPPOE login credentials as asked, get PPOE connection, but no progress in test 3 window.

I finally managed to run test 3 by changing to speedtest@speedtest_domain, connecting and then going to http://217.35.209.142 and running the test:

From what I read on t'Internet the problems I am seeing with FTTC download speeds during busy periods (pretty much any time except when normal folks are in bed) are very common and appear to be lack of capacity on the BT 21CN backhaul.
Will be interested in how this plays out - after all this is what a trial is for, so I am not complaining, just sayin'.

I've been experiencing shocking download/web browsing/streaming video speeds on FTTC recently.
From about 3 in the afternoon until midnight mybroadbandspeed.co.uk will show my connection as 4Mbps down / 3Mbps up.  Outside of those times I'm getting 33Mbps/8Mbps.  Clearly this is a Plusnet traffic management/capacity issue but it's certainly been more apparent in the last few weeks compared to when I first moved to FTTC.

In my case I don't think it is purely down to congestion on PN because test 3 in the BT Speedtest where the ISP is not involved also gives poor results on download speeds. Perhaps there is a fault somewhere in my local area.
I have raised a ticket #35669185 so hopefully PN and BT can investigate.
