FTTC Speeds dropped in the last week?

Has anyone who was on the FTTC trials noticed a huge drop in download speeds since PlusNET rolled out it's fibre service on the 19th? I was getting steady pings of 15ms and download speeds between 34mb-38mb.
Since the 18th of April my pings are now constantly 30+ms, and my download speeds are 24mb max. Now my IP profile has been changed to 25mb. The speeds did drop before the IP profile changed.
Has anyone else noticed this? PlusNET assure me that there is no link between the Fiber service launch and my speed problems, and there is no faults on the line.  Cry

Re: FTTC Speeds dropped in the last week?

Hi there,
I would have to stick to the line that I can't see how our fibre launch could cause such an impact on speeds like this. Plus we're not seeing a lot of reports from other customers which leads be to believe this issue could be specific to your connection.
I'm going to recommend doing some speed tests and traceroutes if you can please

Don't bother with the traceroute for now I've sent your ticket back to the fault team. I'll make sure this gets further attention ASAP.

Re: FTTC Speeds dropped in the last week?

BTW, could someone please change my IP profile? The engineer who installed Fiber told me that all FTTC customers should have their IP profile set to max. (38000kbps or something)

Re: FTTC Speeds dropped in the last week?

Profiles for FTTC should be either 37Mb or 20Mb (20 tends to be for the ones that have been on the trial for a while) - both seem to be correct for FTTC speed still (I am on 20 Mb and my speeds are just fine).
If your profile is different then it will need an update unless they have added more profiles with the launch of the official product.

Re: FTTC Speeds dropped in the last week?

PMolk,
The correct profile has already been set for you. I didn't suspect that to be an issue. It looks more like a fault with the service. I will make sure that gets some attention today.

Re: FTTC Speeds dropped in the last week?

I know its a bank holiday so i'll be patient, but this is getting ridiculous.

It's taken a few weeks just to have someone admit theres a fault. I've been with PlusNET for 6 years nearly and never had any problems, but im starting to get annoyed now.
