FTTC - Dramatic speed drop

Hi All,
I was installed on FTTC last Thursday and have so far been getting between 25-30 Mbps download speeds. Tonight the speeds have dropped significantly and Im back down below 5 - less than I was getting on ADSL.
Any suggestions?

have you ran a speedtest on http://speedtester.bt.com/ to see your profile and sync rate? Report the findings here and I'm sure somebody will help.

However, speedtest.net shows somewhat different figures when done two minutes later

Is this normal?

Whenever you perform a speedtest or any other kind of test, you should always repeat it 3 or 4 times and take an average.
The difference you've seen in results is not unusual as many factors affect your web connection and just one of them changing can result in a drastic change in throughput.

Also, how are you connected to your router? If its wireless, are all your devices N rated or G ? If its the latter, theres your problem. If not, try re-testing a few times in off-peak hours(assuming you didnt already)
