You will need to put your number in the BT line checker to find out if FTTC is svailable in your area:

If it says something like: "Our test also indicates that your line currently supports a fibre technology with an estimated WBC FTTC Broadband where consumers have received downstream line speed of xxxMbps and upstream line speed of xxxMbps." Then your cabinet is enabled and you will be able to get FTTC.
If however it says something like this: "Your cabinet is planned to have WBC FTTC by 31st March 2011. Our test also indicates that your line currently supports a fibre technology with an estimated WBC FTTC Broadband where consumers have received downstream line speed of 30.8Mbps and upstream line speed of 6.8Mbps" then the answer is not yet. (This is what my line checker says). The date indicated is only provisional and is only a holding date. It can move forward or backwards depending on how far they have got with setting up the FTTC infrastructure.
If the line checker does not mention FTTC then you cannot get it, and I guess it will not be enabled in the immediate future. Just because an exchange says it is FTTC enabled it does not mean all the cabinets in the area will be enabled...
