Download Speed Restrictions

Hi,
I'm considering signing up for the FTTC trial but have one question related to the download speed restrictions under the Plusnet Extra package. The background is that I'm currently on the Plusnet Pro package (ADSL2+), which places no restrictions on my download speed. However, I get hit by extra usage charges as I need 40GB per month peak time. I was advised to go onto the Extra package (60GB) and that the FTTC service would NOT be subjected to the download speed restrictions that are published on your support pages (https://www.plus.net/support/broadband/speed_guide/download_speeds.shtml#extraSpeeds). Can you please confirm this is correct? There would be no point in a 20Mb line if I'm throttled to 256Kb! I'd be better off remaining on the Pro package.

Hi Karl, the same restrictions would be in place, even on fibre.

I thought so. Someone needs to provide training to the support staff to avoid this type of confusion. I need to go back and revoke my instruction to switch to the Extra package. Thanks for the swift reply.
