My speed on the Fiber trial started off sooooo well. Over double what BT claimed. 39Mb.
Sadly since that time it seems to be dropping off more and more. Over the weekend I was down to 2Mb.... that was less than the 3Mb I had on ADSL.
Yesterday it was 5Mb and today its 2-3Mb.
I've logged onto the BT Speedtest site and my results are attached.
It does say contact my ISP, but when I log on to Plus.nets help "bit" it says I already have a fault logged...is that automatic? As I havent officially started a fault call yet.
I am putting this on here so that Dave or someone else in the know will hopefully see it and advise what I should do next....if anything.
Regards
Mark

Hi Mark,
I've run some tests on the line and with the slow speed on the BT Speedtest it looks like a BT problem. Can you make sure you've rebooted both the BT modem and router but I've sent it on to BT to see if they can find out what's wrong.

Sorry Dave,
I meant to put in the post that I had rebooted the router (and modem) several times (on each day) just to see if it would make a difference.
One think that doesnt change is the Upload speed, that always seems to be fine...
Thanks for the Update.

Hi MarkAngel
I've been suiffering with the same symptoms with a crash in download but upload remains unaffected. The first time it happened BT managed to fix it but it re-ocurred and they have been working on the problem for three weeks now.
Does your download suffer all the time or is it intermittent? Mine tends to occur mainly during the busier periods which is making it harder to ascertain the issue. I also find that my ping qoes wild when it happens.

Hi Dan,
To be honest Day 1 was Brill, 37/38Mbps, then a few days later it was fluctuating between 20 - 28Mbps, then 4 - 5 days later it was 8 - 18 Mbps (variying on different days).
Saturday (day) just gone was 2.1Mb, then Sunday all day it was 4 - 5Mbps. During the week I only get on it from 6pm onwards, but at the weekend its all day.
I'm hoping it just teething problems.
I wonder if those on Infinity are experiencing the same problems?
I dont want to move from plus.net, so I hope its just a short term problem.

Hi
It will be teething troubles,it is a trial after all, and has to be resolved before FTTC can become a main product. I believe it is happening on Infinity as well from what I has seen in forums.
I didn't get it at all for the first few weeks and had downloads of between 20 -37meg depending on the time. Problem occured but was resolved and then came back again. For me it starts around 8.30pm during the week and at the weekends I might be lucky on Saturday with Sunday afternoon the most likely.
I have had a BT engineer who couldn't find a fault and a contention check showed no issues. BT wanted to send another engineer out but Plusnet have been excellent in saying no because unless they come round after 9pm there is nothing to see. It has been escalated within BT to a specialised department to look in to. I would recommend that you make sure your fault is logged and they start looking in to it. The more faults they get to see the more data they have to spot the issue(s).
Do your pings get worse when the speeds fall ?
