Broadband is dropping when it’s windy and rainy.

Whenever it’s windy and/or rainy, my broadband drops for a few minutes.
Today I have lost the connection in excess of 20 times which is hugely inconvenient as I’m working from home.
Right now I’m posting this using data on my phone.
What can be done?

Hi @Sarara, thanks for getting in touch and I'm sorry to hear your connection has been dropping as of recent. When testing over your connection from this side I can see the mass amount of drops you've been having as seen by the graph below which certainly hints something is out of place somewhere.



When testing your line this side we do look ot be picking up a potential fault of:
Test Result: Fail - Fault located at customer apparatus
Description: FAULT - Loop (Rectified)

This points towards something internal being behind the drops potentially and in which case we'd recommend first of all running through a few checks your side that will rule a number of things out that could be behind this.


I'd recommend starting with basic checks here: http://goo.gl/p2tpvL

And if that doesn't help the next thing would be to rule your internal wiring out by plugging the connection into your test socket which is under the faceplate of your master socket and seeing if the drops stop. This rules out internal wiring, face plates and extension sockets as being the cause. How to locate the test socket and set your connection into it can be found here:

It became less bad (but not perfect) then started dropping out repeatedly this afternoon, when the weather was quite ambient.
This evening it’s been a nightmare with the router light going green as well as the usual orange.
I have already tried unplugging/resetting and it makes no difference. The Ethernet connection is fine. I don’t know what else I can do and I have had a really poor service for months.
How can I get this sorted out?

Fab Smiley thanks a lot for doing that.

It looks like one of my colleagues has beaten me to it, and an engineer visit has now been arranged for 16/11/2021 PM - so anytime between 1PM and 6PM.

Hopefully all goes well on the day, and your connection becomes a lot more stable, if you are having any further issues though, please do feel free to reach out.

Update: the engineer came and sorted everything. Nice guy and, even better, I’ve had a stable signal ever since.
