Count me in when/if a trial takes place. I wonder if there will be 80/2, or just(!) 80/10?

Count me in as long as it's 20Mbps upstream or I can keep the current 10Mbps!

+1 - I'll help trial it as long as my existing upload isn't at threat.

Hi,
When Openreach make the change they will be changing the frequency/profile that FTTC currently uses. What this means is that anyone who currently has less than 40Mbps speeds will likely see a small speed increase as the new frequency has a better reach for the lower speeds as well as being able to offer faster.

Hi Dave,
I understand that BT currently uses VDSL2 frequency profile 8c, with reduced power output to counteract the effect of VDSL2 crosstalk onto adjacent ADSL/ADSL2+ lines.
Aren't the higher frequencies such as 12a & 17a more suited to shorter lines at much higher speeds, with longer lines ending up with potentially lower speeds than via 8c?
My speeds have already dropped from 32-33Mb when FTTC was installed to hovering around 20Mb or so.
I suspect that "something" is now allowing plenty of throughput at ADSL2+ frequencies, but blocking most of the current 8c's VDSL2 frequencies that weren't being blocked initially.
My D-side line length is apparently somewhere between 800m & 1000m, depending upon which BT engineer I have spoken with.

If higher frequency profiles are introduced by BT, wouldn't it therefore follow that I will end up with even lower speeds than I am currently achieving?
Bob Pullen has been slightly involved in my still  unresolved, but now closed by Plusnet ticket regarding my reduced FTTC speeds & may be able to explain what I am talking about if you had a quick chat with him.
Paul.

No harm in people putting their name down here if you're interested in trialling the 80Mbps version, I don't know yet what we are going to do or when so can't promise anything at this stage.

You can stick me down too Dave.
