At last my line has recovered to it's full IP profile following a modem failure on May 18th. The modem was replaced on My 24th and my IP profile returned to it's pre failure rate yesterday (15th June)! In my experience so far it seems that the FTTC equipment in the street cabinets is not as responsive as on ADSL.... I've loads of data I can post if anyone is interested.
On a separtate note I had a call from Openreach the other day with regard to modem failures and they were interested in what I thought and the location etc of the modem.

What kind of speed changes did you see in this process? ie the before/middle/after figures?
It is annoying trying to track these things without the main tools available, isn't it. Everything based on the profile value from a BT speedtest... which you can only run once an hour. No way of checking of your line's environment is changing over the course of a day...
