Using Binatone ADSL 500 on 1Mb or 2Mb line

Hi, I have a Binatone ADSL 500 Rev B modem currently working on a 512K line. I am thinking of changing to Broadband PAYG which will mean that my line will be upgraded (if possible) to the highest available speed.

I would like to know if in the short term I will be able to use my current modem on a higher speed line.

I'm grateful for any help that anyone can provide.

Cheers,
Stu

The Binitone ADSL500 Rev B is rated up to 8Mb download and 1Mb upload.

I have been told that the Rev A version is only 6Mb download, but the box for mine states 8Mb.

The revision is the first letter of the serial number.
