Okay, an old couple of suggestions here but about time there were revisited.
SSL connections to POP, IMAP and SMTP servers.
Currently I don't believe all servers support SSL connections, this means that account usernames and passwords are sent in the clear and could easily be sniffed by any intermediary.
Password support on POP, IMAP and SMTP servers.
Currently I don't believe the servers accept anything more secure than simple password authentication. Additionally the SMTP servers do not require any authentication.
Are there any plans to rethink the stance that it's too much time and trouble to implement these basic and common practices given recent secuity breaches?
