Hi,

You are able to train your spam filter to block these messages by forwarding them onto thisisspam@yourusername.plus.com, unfortunately it is not possible to block 100% of spam as this would end up blocking legitimate e-mails aswell therefor you have to ability to train your spam filter.

Hope this helps.

Are you saying your software doesn't know in advance that, for example, 99.99999999% of emails with viagra in the subject line are spam and more generally has no way of recognizing spam other than by reference to what the individual user tells it?

Viagra in itself does not signal spam. Many spam packages with word alone may not flag it, as the rest of the content is weighed for spam.

Much of the email content can actualy bring the rating down, and thus, outside of filtering.

SImply set your mail filters to delete all email with that word in the subject, if this is so concerning.

Hi,

Yes I agree that most mail with Viagra in the subject is going to be spam, but to block a mail just based on a single keyword wouldn't work. It could easily block legitmate mail, for example the "Viagra Joke" email from your mate.

If you train the spam filter like Mark suggests it will learn what is spam and get better and better at blocking it.

I don't think the spam filter does learn or that it does not open the mails sent as SPam. I agree wth the previous correspondent, 'equafleece' , that 99.9999% of 'viagra' is spam but I am still getting several per day and also the Rolex watch spam, I suppose that less than 0.0001% of these may not be spam either but they are in my box. My filter has not learned that after a couple of months of training. Compared this with 'Hotmail' or 'Freeserve' the Plus response is very poor as their filter catches them all! I have just set my filter to 'High' and hope this makes a difference.
Have you tried sending 'multiple attachments of spam mails to the filter , it sends them back to you!
Look forward to a Spamless 2005, greetings,
