FTP Problem

I have just migrated away from Plusnet and would like to change my website details still hosted by Plusnet.

When I try and access my plusnet account ftp using Cute ftp, the server will not let me connect nor accept my password.

Do I have to be connected to my plusnet dial up account to be able to update my plusnet web space.

Thanks

FTP Problem

For ccgi access you must be connected to a PlusNet IP

For www access you can FTP from any connection.

"For www access you can FTP from any connection."

Are you sure that's still the case, Peter?
I still have a PlusNet Dial-up account (well, two actually), and found that I could only get at my www webspace by firing up the old 56k modem and dialling in to PlusNet ...

... which didn't entirely surprise me, because I had this vague memory in the back of my mind that I'd read something somewhere in a post from one of the PN staff that things had changed in this respect.

Nothing has changed. Only the ccgi has IP restrictions imposed.

For www access try using ftp2.plus.net if ftp.plus.net does not work.

OK - thanks, must have just been a bad day, I guess.

Not that I object to a few pence on an 0845 number, but it's a bit painful when you've got used to broadband - if I need to get at it again and hit the same problem, I'll try ftp2.plus.net instead.
