trial so far

2 days in and ive seen huge improvement in upload but download not changing much does it take time?

Firstly, what does BT suggest you can receive

Now check what your profile is here:
http://www.speedtester.bt.com/.  Use the FTTC diagnostics test and see what the IP profile for your line is.  The max download is something like 77500kbps and 20000upload (It would appear that your upload profile is already topped out though with speeds like that)
If not then it's likely that this is close to the max you can receive (although as it's only been on for a short time it may still be finding the stable connection speed)
If this is at the max then there's a few options:
Try rebooting the modem since some have reported this updates the download sync speed, alternatively look here as I had a very similar issue.

Any idea of the cable length from you to the cabinet?
I was told to wait 10 days but, tbh, found that, once I'd changed my router, my speeds were immediately up to the profile.  I do know, however, that my max rate is around 120mb down and 40up so was fairly certain it wasn't being affected by SNR.

the checker said i can get 68.8 download 20 upload so i guess ill never get over 70 but atleast theres room for improvement

still no improvement on download speed there must be a problem somewhere.

No we tried to test the modem but kept getting an error code i said i would see how it goes after all it is a trial so hopefully im helping.
