end copper line

Hi,

i'm in the process of moving my landline to vonage voip.

What is the order process i should take to port my landline number to them.

I can initiate the number port at their end - what if anything do plusnet need to do to ensure that once the number port is complete my fttp does not get cancelled?

many thanks

Richard

Re: end copper line

You've done the first thing right by asking!!!

Hopefully this post will prod a FTTP trained staff member into replying.

Re: end copper line

Hi @lewer10,

You should be fine to request your voip provider to port the number over to them, if you could let me know once you've done this, I'll monitor your account for the phone service to leave and ensure everything is in order to continue providing a broadband only account following this.

Please note that there is an additional £2.50 charge for a broadband only account.

I hope this helps.

Re: end copper line

Hi,

could somebody acknowledge please? not had any feedback since i got the porting date and posted here and a few pms

I have no idea how the system works so i am worried that without any personal intervention my whole account will be terminated upon the porting of the phone number away from plusnet.

Would it be better to cancel the number port until i have something concrete on my account (unless there already is something on my account)?

Please help!!!!

thanks

@lewer10

AFAIK, but ICBW, to have a better chance of grabbing the attention of a PN  staff member in your thread, it's best to quote them by name (e.g. @HarryB ) who has already participated in the thread.  That way he (they) will get a notification that someone has mentioned them in a post.

Thanks for your private message, Richard

It looks like the port is still in progress for today, I'll keep an eye on things over the course of the day.

Re: end copper line

just an update.

all went well. vonage took over the phone number on the day specified - took about 3-4 hours in total for full service to resume.

billing is now as expected - fttp charge + extra £2.50 for having no phone line.

thanks to all helpers to ensure i didn't get disconnected completely!
