I'm currently awaiting installation of a new drop from PCP to my home for an FTTC install, i've been having a look through the forum at the FTTP trials and after looking on SamKnows I notice my exchange SDCRWLY (Crawley, West Sussex) is FTTP enabled (https://www.samknows.com/broadband/exchange/SDCRWLY)
So what are my chances of getting FTTP, The BTw checker says that FTTPoD is available to me but I'm aware this is not native FTTP which the trial is based on, what I would like to know is how do I find locations where FTTP is available and also if it would be possible to get FTTP anytime in the near future?

From your earlier posts FTTC has been available to you for 2 to 3 years
If that is the case the chances of getting FTTP is nil
What does this say http://www.dslchecker.bt.com/adsl/ADSLChecker.TelephoneNumberOutput

Hi Matt,
It's usually either one or the other when it comes to FTTC/FTTP, so it's highly unlikely that you are to receive it in the near future given that you have an impending FTTC provision.

The FTTP for Crawley will be primarily in/around Tinsley Green (which seems to be a business park virtually next to the southern runway at Gatwick).

Thanks for the replies all
I was under the impression that is was one or the other from what I had read on various news sites,
Will FTTP be something of the distant future for everyone or is it to early to know that yet?
Well thought it was worth asking anyway, FTTC will be a drastic improvement over what I'm currently using.

Once the useful life of copper runs out, then it should be.
There are many advances in copper technology that should keep it going for quite a while - things like this http://www.huawei.com/en/solutions/broader-smarter/hw-001624-singlefan.htm
