Optical connection lost

Hi

 

I'm hoping that one of the Plusnet admins can help me out here. My FTTP connection went down this morning at about 9.20. When I checked the BT Openreach fibre modem the optical light was out. I turned it off and back on again and now the optical light is flashing and no internet. I really hope that the workmen down the road haven't done something to the fibre...

Hi Firu,

 

Thanks for letting us know you're having connectivity issues.

 

I've tested your connection and the results indicate that you may have an issue with your phone line which is impacting on your fibre.

 

Could you please check with your phone provider and ask them to test for any faults that may be present on your line?

Thanks for getting in touch.

 

I don't have an active phone line any more. I still have a physical copper cable coming into the house but I don't have an active connection on it. I deactivated my BT contract when I moved on to the Plusnet FTTP trial. Since it's an FTTP connection the fibre connection is completely separate from the copper cabling.

My connection came back to life at some point yesterday and all appears to be ok with it. Is there any indication what the cause of the fault was and what was done to fix it?

Unfortunately they've not provided any information as to why it happened or to why it was fixed.
