Openreach pilot to send FTTC line statistics to ISPs

Openreach have posted a briefing titled GEA-FTTC capability to support IP linear TV eligibility decision making. However, the practical impact is that they will supply line statistics to the ISP about each FTTC customer.
The data includes:
[tt]
Total 24 Hr ES (downstream)
Total 24 Hr ES (upstream)
Total 24 Hr SES (downstream)
Total 24Hr SES (upstream)
Total 24Hr uptime
Total 24hr unforced re-train count
Total 24Hr Full Initialisations
Total 24 hr failed initialisations
Line Rate (downstream)
Line Rate (upstream)
DSL profile name[/tt]
It seems a bit cheeky to be charging for data that is available inside the modem, and that they've deliberately hidden access to.
Is Plusnet planning to get access to this data? Maybe not for the IPTV stuff, but for the basic line information?
Plusnet Customer
Using FTTC since 2011. Currently on 80/20 Unlimited Fibre Extra.

... and, if they are, can we get access to our own stats?  Wink

I hope they do (subscribe to the data) and will (make it available to us punters)
Have to agree though it seems a bit of a cheek asking the likes of PlusNet to pay for it.

Re: Openreach pilot to send FTTC line statistics to ISPs

Hi,

We don't buy FTTC direct from Openreach we get it from BT Wholesale, so we'll have to see if BTW take this up and can pass the data on to us. I'll see if I can find out what their plans are and ask if we can have it.
