Re: No response to Trial request

Few staff are trained up on this so replies depend on who's available and when. The Trials page does say it can take 7 - 14 days to respond.

Does the DSL checker say something like "WBC FTTP" available.

If it does, and you're an existing PlusNet customer, then it's usually just the time it takes to set up.

Welcome to the community forums @mockneysteve

I've checked your account and it looks like the FTTP Trial ticket was picked up around 10 minutes after you made this post.

Re: No response to Trial request

We have a provisional engineer appointment for today (8am - 1pm) for the internal work, all external work was completed over a week ago. Is todays visit still going ahead as it has not been confirmed?

Re: No response to Trial request

All neatly installed by the Openreach guy. Plugged in the Plusnet Hub One and worked straight away ! No more sharing the WiFi Grin

Speed is only! around the 20mbps mark, he said this would fluctuate over the next 10 days though, is this correct? We were told to expect around the 70/80 mark. 20 compared to 1.5 is enough to keep me happy for the time being though Funny

That's likely just because your account was still on an ADSL package.

Could you try disconnecting/reconnecting the router as I've just upgraded the account to a fibre package for you.

Re: No response to Trial request

Have rebooted router and now having very mixed results, a few under 10mbps, 1 at 79mbps and a few averaging 20-25mbps ?!? I'll keep checking, do you have a recommended site for speed tests ? I've used Googles and Broadband Speed Checker and they both vary their results !

Re: No response to Trial request

The result you've received at 79mbps looks promising.

We'd recommend the wholesale speedtest site here: www.speedtest.btwholesale.com

From 31st October 2022, I no longer have a regular presence here as I’ve moved on to a new role.

@mockneysteve

Also, are you connected to your router wirelessly or via Ethernet cable?

Re: No response to Trial request

Hi Rob, yes all my test have been over WiFi which I know can affect the results, I will try testing tomorrow plugged directly into the router. I'm surprised at the variations in results from different websites and on different equipment. I've just tested again on my phone and achieved 75 down and 21 down !!!!
