Re: May I join the FTTC Trial?

Hi Ben,
I've too have opened a ticket 34400566, normally I'd just wait for a response but as it says it's not regularly monitored and BT are now calling me everyday to join Infinity I'd really like to know if I can join the trial.
Cheers,

Re: May I join the FTTC Trial?

Looks good, let me try to place your order...
Edit: We've just missed the cut-off for the second and we'd rather not do the fifth due to other customers going live on that day. Can you let me know an alternate appointment slot please?
Edit2: I've placed your order for the third, AM, we can easily change this if needs be. Estimated speed 27Mbps Wink

Re: May I join the FTTC Trial?

Apologies if this information is readily available somewhere here but how do I know when BT have upgraded my exchange? And how do I know which of FTTP or FTTC is appropriate to me?
many thanks

Re: May I join the FTTC Trial?

Hi Ben,
Any chance you could move my ticket along 34400566? Just had another call from BT trying to tempt me over to infinity don't think I'll be able to keep saying no for much longer Smiley
Thanks,

Estimated speed of 35Mbps... Do you really need that much? I think that your current service is plenty Wink

I’m sure it is just coincidence that Barry wrote his thread 10 minutes or so after I posted my question.  Wink
My exchange is not enabled until September anyway, but, where do I go in the ‘FTTC Checker’ link to establish whether or not my cabinet has been upgraded?  In other words, which of the eight links under ‘Broadband Community’ > ‘Coverage’ am I to click on? Do I need to set up a user id and password?
Sorry for being dim  Embarrassed

Re: May I join the FTTC Trial?

Rob,
Click on the "ADSL Availability Checker >" link at the bottom of that page. Then on the next screen enter your phone number and press 'submit'.
When FTTC is available to you the output from doing that will show something like:
"Our test also indicates that your line currently supports a fibre technology with an estimated WBC FTTC Broadband where consumers have received downstream line speed of 22Mbps and upstream line speed of 9.9Mbps."
Only when that shows up from the phone number checker can PlusNet order it for you. For my exchange it was expected end of June and the text changed to the above on the 30th of June.
Tom.

Raised a ticket few days ago 34457725
Was talking to someone at plusnet he said it was avalible to me and all , couldn't put me through as the department that deals with it was closed over the weekend.
