Re: FTTP trial

Does the Phone socket connect to the Openreach Fibre Optical Network Terminator (ONT)?

If so you have an FTTP only property and if you want a phone, the option available is from BT.

They offer a service called Fibre Voice Access (FVA) which is a normal phone which plugs into a socket which is connected to the ONT. It is part of the FTTP deals.

As far as I know, no-one else offers FVA.

Re: FTTP trial

@Si62

Ok, so I probably should have said this forum for "future" support!!!

One of the Moderators may well combine your two threads into one on here.

When you submitted the Trail request it will have created a Support Ticket on your PlusNet account. These can be viewed when logged into PlusNet under "View My Questions"

AS it is an open ticket you need to reply to the ticket answering any questions asked. For example you need to confirm (or state) you want the "up to 78" product. You also need to confirm (if asked) that you agree to the Terms and Conditions.

Re: FTTP trial

I'm not sure to be honest, how would I check?

Re: FTTP trial

@Si62

If this is for me, "How do you check if the Phone Socket connects to the ONT"?

Then just go to the ONT and see if the socket marked "Tel" has a cable plugged into it.

If so, is the LED Light called "TEL"  lit?

Does the phone socket by the ONT have a switch on top marked "Copper - Fibre" and if so, what is it set to?

Re: FTTP trial

@Si62 @SpendLessTime

I believe this has been answered in the original thread.

According to MatthewWheeler the address is a new build with FTTP only - no copper service hence no phone line. VOIP would be the only option.

Re: FTTP trial

@bmc

I was just going to add a note to @Si62 that if he has signed up for Plusnet then VOIP is the answer to having a voice service.  (That's how I handle it and many others)

I hope I stated clearly above, only BT offer the FVA service as part of the FTTP contracts and not available as a separate service.
