Re: Fiber Connection Help

Which Zyxel modem is it? Can you access the router admin page?
You should just need to select a PPPoE connection and login detail (username@plusdsl.net and password).

Re: Fiber Connection Help

You can delete the AdslWAN and VDSLWAN connections as they are not needed. Are you plugged in from the WAN port to the Openreach ONT Port 1?
On the ONT - is PON flashing all the time (it should be solid green)? What is LOS doing?

Re: Fiber Connection Help

The Zyxel modem is connected WAN->BT Port 1
Loss is off
If it's not solid green this means link problem?

Re: Fiber Connection Help

Yes - it means it's trying to connect to the exchange and authenticate but it can't (for some reason).
Have you tried resetting the ONT (I believe there's a reset button somewhere)?
Is this a new connection?

Re: Fiber Connection Help

If the ont is the bt  equipment I tried to unplug the power  and I restarted it but the light is still  flashing, is the authentication dependent on the information I added or
is a plusnet problem?
cheers

Re: Fiber Connection Help

It's your connection to the exchange - it basically needs to authenticate so the exchange knows its your traffic. It has nothing to do with Plusnet (the ONT will connect without you plugging anything else into it).
You need to raise it as a fault. Is this a new connection?

Re: Fiber Connection Help

Have you had the install recently done or was everything already in place when you moved in?
It's straightforward what needs to be done - it all gets done remotely and shouldn't take more than a few days.

Re: Fiber Connection Help

Hi Andy,
new installation, BT came to my flat installing everything, they understood that there was not connection to the exchange so the lights were off,
4 months later the light is blinking green Smiley
cheers

Re: Fiber Connection Help

as I recall from my installation the engineer needs to login to the PON and set up the authentication onsite

Re: Fiber Connection Help

The pon light should be solid green if your service is active,
Pon is red when there is no light coming from the exchange, flashing green when it sees the light from the exchange but the serial number of your ont has not been registered with the exchange, and flashing green when its all built correctly and ready to connect your router.
If you have a flashing light, there either isnt an order with bt to activate the line, or the serial number they have activated is in correct, if this is the case the serial number is on the back of the ONT
