A belated BT profile change that has only just been received was the problem, reboot and you're sorted Smiley

Speed down to 0.53Mb/s, rebooted the router, slowly drifted up to 1.64Mb/s. Think the slow speed started around 7pm (when the "boy"  upstairs came out of his room). Any ideas what has happened Angry

Re: FTTP download speed just fell off a cliff - anybody else see that?

My download speed is currently a massive 584kb/s - upload is 5494kb/s.
It tend to drop off the cliff around 9pm each night... should I be seeing SUCH a massive drop? (by morning its back to 16 meg upwards)
Could it be contention on the fibre that goes to the cabinet?

Possible.
Conduct a BT Speedtest during the main brunt of the loss.
Can you indicate when it stars roughly, when it gets worst and ideally, a realistic time it stops.
I do appreciate you may not know if you are not up late enough, but something like the following may assist.

Thanks... I did the bt speedtest and got circa 500K down, 6M up.
Will set this up tonight, and leave on.

Re: FTTP download speed just fell off a cliff - anybody else see that?

My speed is also plunging like a lemming - I can only get 891Kbps download whereas upstream it's still 14+Mbps.
I tried running the www.speedtest.bt.com to find out my IP profile and drew a blank there too "TEST ERROR - unable to run the speed tester. Wait a bit and if you still have problems call your ISP ..."  Next step - if it continues much longer - is to raise a ticket with PN.
BTW I tried installing the tbbMeter mentioned above and that failed too "The application failed to initialize ..."

Not sure how the tbb meter is supposed to track any time length... but using isposure over last few night gives ...
