FTTP coming to my area soon - should I stay with PN or move elsewhere?
With FTTP, you're fairly limited with a choice of providers. BT Consumer offer the full range of speeds (40/10 up to 330/30) whilst Plusnet only offer 40/20 and 80/20. There are other ISPs offering 80/20 FTTP like Zen/AAISP/IDNet, but it comes at a cost and usage isn't unlimited.

Just a reminder that FTTP is only how your property connects to the exchange, once at the exchange your traffic joins all the other traffic so any congestion at the exchange/back haul/gateway/peering will affect you. I know from experience.

My son is keen to join Plusnet when his BT contract ends on July 3rd, the problem is that the only fibre service available to his house, and the rest of his street is FTTP.
His ADSL download speed is absolutely rubbish, hence the need for fibre.
The question is are Plusnet taking FTTP customers now or is it still on Trial?
