Re: FTTP Trial Update - 23rd September

The dates move around quite a bit so take them as indicative dates, the ones in September are pretty accurate, the ones later could easily change by a week or 2.

Re: FTTP Trial Update - 23rd September

I've got a list of everyone that's already expressed an interest in the trial and update it whenever the cabs get done, at which point I'll send out an invite ticket so keep a look out for en email saying we've created a ticket.

How we looking for "monkey" park being enabled on the 13th ?
Assuming it does get switched on on Wednesday, whats the lead time for BT to perform an install ?
Thanks

Re: FTTP Trial Update - 23rd September

Hi Si,
This is the update hot off the press today:
Please note confirmation of the new cabinet C-RFS notification for this week.
Monkstone Park – (PCP area 121)    C-RFS by 13th October
I include advance information on working indicative target dates for C-RFS availability for the following
Woughton on the Green (PCP area 70)  C-RFS by 18th October
    Bleak Hall (PCP8)                            C-RFS by 30th October
Monkstone (PCP area 112 and 11T)    C-RFS by 3rd November

There's a couple of you on cab 121, I'll be sending invites out later today. Lead time is a minimum of about 10 days from the cab being enabled so you're probably looking at 23rd October as the earliest available date. Although for the 2 step install we can probably do the first appointment a little earlier. BT say it's best to leave a gap between the 1st and 2nd appointment in case the 1st over-runs.

Re: FTTP Trial Update - 23rd September

I shall sit at my computer for the rest of the day waiting for the invite 🙂
I've not been this excited for ages.
I'm a big usenet user ( as you might be able to tell from my usage stats ) so I should be able to give a very accurate through out/download speed as I have full speed downloads from my usenet servers.

Re: FTTP Trial Update - 23rd September

Hi Dave,
Just replied in the other thread, should have checked here first. I'm also in Monkston Park, MK10 9PY. I don't suppose I'm on the same cab or you have any idea when mine will be ready? - I've not had an invite that I'm aware of...

Re: FTTP Trial Update - 23rd September

According to my postcode data you're on cab 121, however we've got a mixed bag with that cab at the moment. There are 3 others on that cab that I've checked, 1 of them I've placed an order fine, the other 2 show as being enabled on Sunday so I'd suggest keeping an eye on the checker the next couple days. I've flagged the mixed messages in to the trial team today to see if they can let me know what's going on.

Re: FTTP Trial Update - 23rd September

Sorry, I'm a bit ignorant on all this...I live on Shenley Lodge and the BT Broadband Availability Checker says:
"Our test also indicates that your line currently supports a WBC Fibre To The Premises technology with an estimated Broadband downstream line speed of up to 100Mbps and upstream line speed of up to 30Mbps."
Speed tests though still show me having just 1.6Mbps downstream, an improvement over 6 months ago when it was just 0.92Mbps, but still not impressive.
What do I have to do to benefit from this fttp line?  I move large photo files around so it would be great to have the improved bandwidth.
