FTTP - Aberdeenshire

Noticed in BBC news items that FTTP is to be rolled out in selected trial areas - including Aberdeenshire. Anyone know how and/or when ?Huh

Re: FTTP - Aberdeenshire

Hi there.

I'd imagine any updates would be posted up on the DSL Checker

Once available you'll see WBC FTTP under Featured Products.

Re: FTTP - Aberdeenshire

It's not a FTTP roll out as such - it's a pilot. See

https://www.thinkbroadband.com/news/7812-six-uk-areas-to-pilot-roll-outs-for-gigabit-full-fibre-broa...

However, if you're on a TPON cabinet in Kingswells that's a different story - FTTP is currently being rolled out as the cabinets are not FTTC compatible.

Re: FTTP - Aberdeenshire

There's no mention of operators yet.

I could be wrong but I get the impression this scheme isn't aimed at Openreach, but more the 'altnets'...
