FTTC Installed - Profile Query

Hi, been connected this morning. I have replied too the open ticket #40744272 to get my pofile updated for the increased speeds.
Just run a BT SpeedCheck
IP Profile - 38717
Upstream Rate IP Profile - 2000
At present, I am getting 12768 / 1505 kbps.

Now the upload has increased a bit from 1000 kbps but my download is as before from ADSL. Hopefully your change will see the download increase.
However, why is my upload profile 2000 kbps ? I understood everybody on the trial is on 10000 kbps ?
Thanks
Tim

Re: FTTC Installed - Profile Query

Thanks, now getting 37mbps - so very happy with that.  Smiley
But the download is sill capped at 2mbps.
This post from Bob Pullen refers to 10mbps for the trial. http://community.plus.net/forum/index.php/topic,94838.msg797562.html#msg797562
Can this please be investigated.
Many Thanks

Hi Tim,
Just checked your account and everything is correctly set for fibre speeds so we must be looking at a different problem. Can you try a test here: http://www.speedtester.bt.com/

Re: FTTC Installed - Profile Query

OK, just did this and 2000kbps max speed possible as before.
I've attached a screenshot.
So what is configured incorrectly ?

Re: FTTC Installed - Profile Query

Just to let you know plus net have put a company policy that max upload now is 2 meg instead of the 10 meg promised.
Funny how the plusnet staff have not be honest with you and said so.

Dear Mr Morris,
Thank you for getting back to us. I can confirm that we have a company wide cap of 2 meg on upstream connections. This is to ensure that downstream does not suffer. We are unable to uncap the upstream rate. )

Re: FTTC Installed - Profile Query

I understand what is proposed for the full rollout of being limited to 2mbps.  The explanation they have given you, stating that downstream does not suffer is twadle in my opinion. I think that member of staff is getting things confused with ADSL.
One of the main reasons I chose plusnet over other providers was the knowledge I could get 10mbps upload.
The note from Bob Pullen just a few days ago stated those on the trial would get 10mbps.  http://community.plus.net....msg797562.html#msg797562 He was encouraging people to get on the trial to ensure they got the 10mbps upload !
I hope it is just crossed wires at their end and this will get resolved shortly.

I'm with alan (hope its ok to call him that).
CSC seem to be a little poorly informed about the FTTC trial, or at least were when I phoned on Wednesday, and was told that the trial was closed, and that I'd have to wait for the product launch.
Thankfully with a little help from Bob, that's now sorted, and the trial is on the way for install.
I suspect that [removed] is talking about the 19th April launch product as opposed to the trial, but by the same token, I doubt he'll help you out with getting 10Mb upload.
That said, I may be wrong... I hope not though.

Re: FTTC Installed - Profile Query

I'm wondering if I should get my ticket checked too. It's one reason I went for the trial...

Re: FTTC Installed - Profile Query

Well it seems as though my upload profile was changed to 10000 and I did a speedtest this morning and got 8mbps.  Smiley
But tonight I'm only getting 1.6mbps again, so I do not understand this.  Sad
I've added this detail to my support request.

Re: FTTC Installed - Profile Query

I think CSR training needs to be sorted out for this - I have just had a few days of wondering were my upload speed is, waiting for profile to be sorted out, then wondering if it was just the profile settling down, opening a ticket, chasing the ticket a couple of times, being told it was being pushed over to the FTTC provisioning team.
Then I do a BT speedtest and guess what - it is capped at 2mb.
Any chance of someone from CS picking this up? Its ticket #41673171
