Have you rebooted both units - the VDSL first then wait 30 seconds then turn on your router?
What does a bt speedtest show?

Thanks Peter,
Now looks like

speedtester.bt.com now - see attached.
This morning IP Profile from bt was 34532 Kbps so it is down considerably.  Is this normal?

Chris

Re: FTTC: Day 3 Speed dropped to a drip

Well... yes. FTTC connections can be affected more by contention at the exchange / on the BT network than normal ADSL connections so you will see wide variations in speed.  BYT still have a way t go to get their fibre network up to speed and as areas are connected you will get slowdowns until BT can add more bandwidth to the area concerned.
However, it should not go as low as you had so there may have been a problem which resolved itself with a reboot. Just keep an eye on it.
