Engineer did arrive (better late than never!)..

Should I be worried?  Supposed to be 8-1pm so will no doubt have to sit tight and wait.  Hope I haven't taken a day off for nothing!

Re: Fingers crossed : engineer due this morning - although no sign yet!

I can only talk from my experience, engineer was at my place at 8am sharp.  Took him approx 1.5 hours to do the work.... perhaps your engineer has got wise of that, and so has a lie-in, and heads off to you for 11?
Good luck.

Certainly not Smiley In our experience the engineers can turn up at any time during that slot.
If you're waiting around my advice would be kettle on and feet up for the meantime Smiley

Re: Fingers crossed : engineer due this morning - 12pm - still nothing!!

Mine showed up at 12:30 pm today. Quite pleased with the work, should be getting nearly 40 down 2 up minus overheads. I'm waiting now for PN to update my profile. Since the router is now connected to the BT modem I can no longer tell at what speed I'm connected, is there any way to do this without running a speed test?

I really hope you end up with 40down 2up  Wink
No current way any of us have worked out to find your "sync speed", speedtesting is the only way we know of, and as you'll be aware that's subject to a heck of a lot of variables.

Re: Fingers crossed : engineer due this morning - 12pm - still nothing!!

While the download speed reported by the speed tester is still limited by other variables, it does report the current IP profile value at BT's end. That should be related back to the sync.
I think a profile of 38717 means you are synced at 40Mbps, but I don't know how it changes below that.

Re: Fingers crossed : engineer due this morning - 12pm - still nothing!!

As discussed elsewhere the speedtester shows me at 38717, however I'm pretty sure I'm not synching at 40, as the green box is quite a way away.... still enough to get a decent speed mind.

Well congrats to you on getting it installed, worries about the engineer thankfully not coming to fruition.

Discord,
I can see that the engineer turned up roughly around 1pm. I've just tried calling to double check everything is OK with the service. Let me know if you have any issues.

Hmm, profile still wrong.  Guess the change in process hasn't quite sunk in yet !?
