Could someone from Plusnet please help me?

Hello
Recently signed up to the 80 trial. This morning I noticed the upload speed has increased but the download speed is the same as it was on 40.
I've done the usual things such as reboot the modem and router, etc.
Would you be able to look into this / or advise me on other things to try?
Best,
Rob.

Re: Could someone from Plusnet please help me?

That is correct (effectively unrestricted) can you check the profile from the BT speedtest

Hi Jim and Alex
Thanks for your replies!
I'll let you know what it comes back with when I get home from work - around 6ish.

Re: Could someone from Plusnet please help me?

Hello
The line profile is 33.88 which is the sort of speeds I was getting on 40.
Any suggestions?
Rob.

Re: Could someone from Plusnet please help me?

Hello Rob,
Do you have any idea how far you are from your green fibre cabinet?
The people that seem to have the greatest benefit on the 80/20 are those that were getting full speed before the trial i.e 37meg ish. The trial just removes the cap allowing full speed down the line.
Its possible if you were only getting 33 meg before that could be the maximum your line can handle and as such joining the trial and removing the cap will have little to no effect on your download speed.
Regards
Paul.

Thanks for all your help.
Just noticed that the plusnet line speed is now 37mb.
Does this have any bearing on things?

Re: Could someone from Plusnet please help me?

Well it shouldn't be, it should be 20 or 40 if you're on the 80/20 trial, but if your IP profile is 33.88 it won't make any difference anyway. As has been said, if you weren't getting full download speed on 40/2 you are unlikely to see any significant increase from 80/20 and may see a decrease.

Re: Could someone from Plusnet please help me?

You're connected at:
Downstream Speed 35.0 Mbps
Upstream Speed 7.2 Mbps

With a BT Wholesale profile of:
17.5M-35M Downstream, Interleaving Low - 3.6M-7.2M Upstream, Interleaving Off

That's pretty consistent with an availability check here.
I've changed your profile our side to match this.
