Re: 80/20 FTTC Trial Open

Another me too! My PlusNet profile is also now showing 40Mb. The BT beta speedtest shows download speeds of around 40.5Mb/s which was also the case when the profile was 20Mb/s. It is not much of an issue in reality, I have accepted that my line is just not capable of getting much over 40Mb/s.

Re: 80/20 FTTC Trial Open

Mine is also 40 and probably needs changing back.
When I first got fibre about 4 weeks ago - my fastest speed was 37mbps when on 40/2.
My download speed has stayed constant at about 35 since going on beta 80/20.
My upload speed has increased to about 6mbps -I guess this relatively slow fibre speed on this trial is because I am about 700 metres from the fibre cabinet.
Should I be satisfied with that ?
Should my profile be changed back to 20?

Re: 80/20 FTTC Trial Open

Rebooting won't change the line speed, only Plusnet can do that. Either your original request was missed or it is reset itself back to 40Mb again, which may keep happening until Plusnet fixes the underlying problem.

Hi all,
For anyone that posted following my last reply, I've just changed your connection profile too.
I'll be checking again when I'm back in the office tomorrow morning.
Good evening everyone.

Re: 80/20 FTTC Trial Open

As was forecast, as soon as a delta report for you comes through because of a re-sync, you go back to a 40Mbps setting. Happened to me earlier today.

Look on the bright side: at least we know that whatever stopped the delta reports being sent/processed has been sorted out! Cheesy

Re: 80/20 FTTC Trial Open

I'm just confused about what the delta reports are saying to cause those on a 80Mb service to be given a 40Mb profile at the PN end.
Good news for those on ADSL2+ but not so good at the moment for 80Mb FTTC, how are we supposed to cope with sub-40 Mb speeds?  Crazy

Re: 80/20 FTTC Trial Open

As mine has stayed at 20Mb throughout this episode, does that mean I'm not getting delta reports and if not should I be worried?
If receiving (or whatever the terminology is) a delta report means I go back to a 40Mb profile then I'll do without them thank you very much.
Gerry.
