weird patterns on tbb graph

I have been trying to find an issue my side, but this problem still occurs with all devices disconnected, wireless turned off so basically only the router enabled, although I have been doing work on my router lately (upgraded it and some firmware stuff) the time the pattern started doesnt coincide with any of the changes.
I will probably at some point plug in the old router temporarily to see if the pattern stops, but I welcome any thoughts as maybe others have seen this before.
The day it started
18th june.one occurrence between 6 and 8pm.

Here is a graph from the 20th, this data matches with 19th also.  So multiple occurrences at intervals, one of those was with everything disconnected.

So its like a triangle shape, gradual build up of peak latency then a sudden stop.
Also checked my modem stats, no correlation with line errors.

Re: weird patterns on tbb graph

I found this issue when connected through ptw gateways... Never found out why... Maybe fairies!

Re: weird patterns on tbb graph

isnt fixed, I think I will need to swap the routers back to rule out something on the router.
wow it gets weirder, check my ipv4 and ipv6 graphs, it happens different times on each independently.

Re: weird patterns on tbb graph

what router are you using... the only think I can say at the moment it something uploading randomly... this could be a cloud drive that's gone a bit mental and keep resyncing same amount of data repeatedly

Re: weird patterns on tbb graph

I was seeing those patterns a couple of weeks back, but only with my TP-Link C8 router, not the Billion Bipac 7800n. Every 4 - 5 hours or so those tall "skyscraper" peaks, day and night
A week or so ago I reconnected the C8 and I haven't seen the pattern since. Only thing I had changed was to disable the router's IPV6 section altogeher. Dont see why that should make a difference; probably just a coincidence

Re: weird patterns on tbb graph

thats the next thing I am going to try, QoS has been turned off (was one of recent things enabled in past week), I will disable ipv6 next.  If after that point is still weird, I will either switch back to my main plusnet acc or swap the routers as I need to get to the bottom of this.
For reference my old router was an ac66 and the new one is an ac68.  The ac68 is running a newer build of the firmware but only one revision newer, the changes shouldnt cause this issue.
Incidently I seem to be on one of these spikes right now and a speedtest is hideous (ipv4 test same sort of result).  However this is the first spike that also has packet loss on the tbb graph, the others didnt.

Re: weird patterns on tbb graph

ok I am still not 100% on this but it looks like its a combination of using ipv6 'and' having asuswrt QoS enabled on the router.
It seems if either QoS is off or ipv6 is off its ok.  That issue during peak a few nights ago I think was actually unrelated and a plusnet issue.
