upgraded to fibre and now iphone/pads keeps dropping out

we upgraded to fibre over a month ago and our broadband has never been as unreliable!  we havent noticed any increase in speed on our apple devices (slower if anything) and is in fact going from bad to worse, constantly dropping out unless we are sat on top of router! we havent changed the position of the new router but have had to plug the old microfilter in as we lost connection completely after a couple of days of using the new one.  we are only able to use wifi on our iphone/pads about 50% of the time in our lounge whereas never had problems before  interestingly im typing this on husbands laptop in the lounge and it seems to be fine!????  is there an issue with apple products on fibre??? only solution i can see is downgrading back to basic broadband as that worked ok

Change the name of the wireless 5Ghz SSID on your router by say adding a 5 to the end.

Apple devices can get confused by having both the 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz wireless names the same.
