Re: upgrade my fibre speed

What is the minimum fibre download speed reported by BT DSL checker?
https://www.dslchecker.bt.com/
If you look through recent posts on this forum, you should find a number of discussions where Plusnet no longer offer 80/20 Unlimited Fibre Extra if the estimated lowest fibre speed is below 40 mbps.  I think they use the FTTC Range 'A' low value.
Only lower tier fibre product now available is 40/2 Unlimited Fibre.

Re: upgrade my fibre speed

Is 60/20 the lowest in the estimate range ?  if so i see no reason why the extra package wasn't available to you for upgrade.
As zZz says if the lowest figure in the range is under 40Mb Plusnet wont let you upgrade the system is stupid it doesn't look at the top of the range only the lowest figure same if you contact customer services other ISP's whilst will look at the lowest figure they also use the top figure as well hence why you can order the top package on BT

Re: upgrade my fibre speed

If your FTTC Range 'A' low value is 40, this may be why you are not offered 80/20 online from Plusnet 'Product Change' page.
What product are you on at the moment?
40/2, 40/10, or 40/20 fibre ?
If you are on 40/20, you may have a much better chance of ordering 80/20 fibre from Plusnet. If you run a BT Performance Further Diagnostics test and show them the evidence that your BT downstream IP profile is significantly greater than 40 mbps, then Plusnet can be persuaded to offer you 80/20 service.

Re: upgrade my fibre speed

That's odd, I've been able to do this without having to do anything special.
Either way, this is in pending for your next billing date.
