Re: sync speed

If you log in to your router by typing 192.168.1.254 into the address field of a browser you will log into the router administration pages where you will find this information, depending on the router probably on the status page. It will not affect your connection in any way to look at it here.

Re: sync speed

Or you could try this  transfer speed  which gives you your Current line speed. If you are not logged in it will ask you to do so.

Ever helpful. Grin Sure, I’d love to help you out. Now which way did you come in?

That transfer speed test does not give the correct result.  I am currently on a sync of 59, max 70, but the transfer speed link gives 78.  That might be because I have only just transferred and the systems haven't updated themselves yet.

Re: sync speed

It looks like your the speed profile on your account was changed by an adviser on the 14th August.

Testing your line is showing your sync rate at 79.9mbps so the profile is currently correct.

Re: sync speed

whoops - sorry, I think you were responding to OP and not to me?
I still don't see why https://www.plus.net/my.html?action=data_transfer_speed i reporting 78

Interesting: thank you for testing.

Why does my hub (BT Home Hub 6) report

13.74 Mbps / 58.61 Mbps
13745 / 70668

I can see the data rate might be a bit low while systems sort themselves out, but I thought data rate was the sync rate?

Re: sync speed

@sjptd yep you're right, sorry. My response was aimed at you while looking into the OPs account. I bigger glasses.

I've updated your speed profile now but it shouldn't make a difference at all due to the way connections without static IPs are routed across our network.

Re: sync speed

@Gandalf  Thank you.  I didn't really think it would make much difference, but just wanted to check that things were working as I understood them.  I see the https://www.plus.net/my.html?action=data_transfer_speed page now reports as expected, and I'll hope for higher speed/lower margin over the next few days as DLM settles.

Re: sync speed

Something (presumably DLM) did indeed kick in after a few days as expected/hoped, and we are back on the same speeds as we had on BT before the switch.

The information at https://www.plus.net/my.html?action=data_transfer_speed is wrong again.  I've had a data rate of 77.98 Mbps for over three days, and it is reporting 65.8.  Not worried, but that page does seem to be very unreliable.
