strange fibre broadband issue

i installed a bt home hub 5A to use as an all in one for my fibre but for some strange reason it has halved my down speed.

DSL Line Status

Connection Information

Line state: Connected
Connection time: 0 days, 00:18:15
Downstream: 78.03 Mbps
Upstream: 19.53 Mbps

on speedtest it is coming back with these results

any ideas anyone?

Re: strange fibre broadband issue

What does the speed test at BTW show and what IP profile does it show?

Also what speed does Plusnet show here ? You will need to log in to get the Plusnet speed.

Re: strange fibre broadband issue

Well the Ookla speed test could be wrong. Sometimes the servers they use can go slow.

I always try multiple speed test services when one is slower than expected.

Hence the BTW speed test (which is the one Plusnet recognise) and ThinkBroadband too. Just to see if it is the line or the server at fault.

No just put in your telephone number  and click on the "Run Diagnostics Test" button

Re: strange fibre broadband issue

Well the download speed is the right area.

The BTW upload speed is wrong BUT that is a feature of BTW as it shows mine wrong consistently too. All the other

services show the correct upload speed. This has been happening since 29 February 2016.

Re: strange fibre broadband issue

Well I've no idea. Never heard of speedcheckerapi.com, although I note that is registered in Holland sp does it use Ookla servers too.

The BTW one shows good, what doe sthe UK based ThinkBroadBand show?

If it doesn't agree with the BTW one, and all tests are being done via cable to the router, then might want to log a fault
