Sadly, I see that my download speeds are declining again. Previously they were restored after external bi-metalic joints were cleaned up. With the onset of bad weather, I fear my speeds are heading south. Could PN please give my line a check? Thanks.

Hi @jeffjohn1941,
I've tested your line today and I can see that the speed is currently performing lower than we would expect it to. As this is the case, I'd like to ask if you've been through our online troubleshooting guide, to see if any of the steps included have resolved the issue? For reference, the troubleshooting guide can be found here.
I would also ask that you please set your router up within the test socket in the property if it hasn't already been, to see if this improves the speeds that you're receiving. A guide on how to do this can be found here.
Please let us know how this goes and if you continue to experience any issues so that we can pick this back up for further investigation as soon as possible.

Hi - thanks for your prompt reply; yes nothing has changed on my system but the speeds have slowly degraded since the last OR visit. I originally had speeds above 50 Mb/s but as you observe they are well down currently. I'll leave things for the moment as I have a few hospital visits scheduled, but would appreciate a line check to see the noise profile. Previous degradation was caused by line connections between old and new wiring street systems.

Morning All!
Speeds (and weather) much improved since last communication. D/l now nearly 47Mb/s.
I'll attach readings for comparison of data. If you could kindly comment.
Many thanks, Jeff

Hello @jeffjohn1941,
Thank you for uploading your results I can see that the connection is now back with your estimates.
Please do keep an eye on it and let us know if it drops below again, as I think at that point we will need to raise a fault and possibly an engineer.

Yes that seems fine. thanks; we don't want OR to report 'no fault' found! I'll monitor and keep you informed. Could well be a similar fault to one previously found - a corroded bi-mettalic connection at the base of the pole. Jeff
