as the topic says , i had a blip in my power supply for about 10 secs and that was enough to alter my line speeds
i was hitting about 60/18 but after the power loss im down to 18/12 , will the cabinet/exchange reset my line automatically and how long will this take or do i need to raise a fault

Nope
The usual method is to disconnect from the internet using the browser interface to the router and then after a few minutes power down the modem then power up again
You may need to manually reconnect using the browser interface to the router
This assumes that you have a BT Modem and separate router but if you have a combined unit then you power down the router after disconnecting as above
